ELIGIBILITY
- Candidates must be currently working on their Ph.D.
- Candidates do not have to be U.S. citizens, but they must be enrolled in an American university. French citizens are not eligible to apply.
- Candidates must obtain a letter of recommendation from their advisor(s) in the U.S., as well as a letter of invitation from a professor affiliated with a French university or research institution.
- The fellowship must begin between September 1 and December 15 of the fellowship year. The grant period is 6 to 9 months. Candidates must demonstrate in their research proposals how many months they require in France.
- All application materials are due on December 15th for the following fellowship year.

You may also search on Campus France’s website for a French university professor (or person employed by a university or research institution in France) whose academic work corresponds most closely to your thesis.
